We thought that we'd be able to save a lot of money being closer to work and school if we lived down there. I'll get to ride my bike to work, Theron will get to take the traxs to work and school. Well, even though I do have a bike already I really wanted a fun, cute street bike that you see everyone ridding around. However, paying upwards of $800 for one was not in our budget plan.
Heading to check out a potential place to live one day Theron and I ran into a yard sale. Out in front there were 5 vintage bikes. I picked one out, stuck it in the back seat, and decided to restore it! (Whatever was I thinking? I have never resotred anything). It took us forever to figure anything out about it. Still don't know a lot, but here's what I do know. It was made in Birmingham Enland, in (we think) 1958. It's a Phillips. Raleigh took over Phillips sometime around 1960 so it was made just before that merger. However, the most odd thing is that all the Phillips I've found made in and around 1950 were made in Nottingham, not Birmingham. Haven't found out why mine is so special yet. If you know PLEASE let me know.
So, without further ado here is the beast. It's completely dis-assembled at this point scattered all over our house as we try to sand it down, clean it up, and get it ready to paint. Will let you know more as I know more.

Cute bike!!! I didn't know you guys were moving downtown! Where are you moving to? I work at 3rd E and South Temple. We should get together for lunch one day - I'd love to catch up with you!
