I Guess it's Been While

Our life hasn't changed much the last few months. So we haven't posted anything lately. There's not much to bring you up to speed on, but I'll try to think of a few things.
The biggest news is that Theron and I have made a HUGE lifestyle change. It started out as a 'I wonder what if...' type of thing and has since turned into something that we are really enjoying doing. Curious? We are now on a 90% raw diet! What is a raw diet, you may ask? Raw means that we are eating fruits, veggies, nuts, grains, etc. all without cooking them. WOW. It sounds crazy to me when I write it down. But it has been AMAZING! And it really isn't as hard as one might expect. Why go raw? Well, we haven't had the healthiest lifestyle lately and I really wanted a big change. I couldn't keep eating desserts and pizza every night, and we'd both like to lose a little weight in a very healthy way. Also, as I was reading about it the diet made sense to me. I guess I'm a bit hippie, but what did our ancestors eat before all of the pre-packaged, processed, and cooked foods out there now? Raw. Raw food is also chock-full of great enzymes that all of our cells need to function healthily and when we cook our food we kill those enzymes thus depleting our cells of vital nutrition. I won't bore you anymore with that science, but I love that kind of stuff. So, we still get to eat warm foods, the rule is that you don't cook anything to over 115 degrees. We make all sorts of soups, salads, mock-meat-loaves, desserts, drinks, everything. Theron and I aren't vegan so we still are eating ocean animals, eggs, and every once-in-awhile milk. We also feel wonderful every day we do this! If you're interested in it we picked up a great recipe and info book from Barnes & Noble called "The Raw Transformation" by Wendy Rudell. We'll keep you up to date on what's happening with that more (if I remember).

Next. Our nephew just had his first birthday! I wish I had taken pics, but I'm not big on picture taking. It was fun to see him walking and learning and trying to talk. We are expecting another nephew in July from Katie and Richard and are excited for that.

And while Katie and Richard are visiting his family for the next two weeks we are watching their dog, Baxter. He is such a sweet dog and he and Bella get along so well. Baxter came with a big plastic tub of food and Bella protects it like it's her child. She growls at the two other dogs if they try to get close for their water or food, so I had to move their food and water dishes. It's pretty funny and retarded. Here she is protecting it. She is still there. No, seriously.
Sirius has also been 1,000 times better than ever before! We've been letting him play with toy bones and balls and not taking them away from him. The difference is night and day. If we need to take something away from him now we are not in danger of having our hand (or a piece of nose, if you remember Easter 2 years ago) bitten off. He won't let me take a picture of him with his ball because he's afraid of me taking it still. It's a work in progress, but better.

Oh! And we're going on vacation in 36 days!! YAY! I soooooo need a vacation. We're going to Disney World with my family the end of May to the beginning of June.
I've also been working extra shifts out in Sandy at a fitness retreat my Uncle Jon was at. They have massage therapists come in once a week to massage the clients that are doing a "Biggest Loser" type thing. It has really helped with the finances. Thanks Jon!

Sadly, still no pregnancy. We are still trying. So, we'll let you all know when/if that happens.

Other than that life is good. It's finally spring and beautiful and that makes us happy. We are still totally in-love and have the cutest dogs ever. Have a happy Spring everyone. Maybe I'll get to writing again around Summer. Hee hee.
