I really wanted to make something special for my baby. Unfortunately I don't know how to sew or craft much of anything. She has enough family making her blankets so I didn't want to undertake that project. I thought something that she could use with her babies would be fun (then it's from Grandma also). So I decided to make a baby mobile. Anyway, most baby mobiles are expensive and relatively boring. I'm pretty earthy so here is what I came up with:

Birds on one tier, rocks and stones on another, and little bells with beads on the last.
Flowers and colored beads compliment the wreathes and add color.
This is what the baby will see looking up. I suppose if it fell we'd be in a heap of trouble, but I did everything in my power to keep that from happening. Now, how to hang it above the crib...?

Great job! It turned out way cute. She'll love it...lots of interesting textures and shapes to look at!
I would put it over the crib so she can see it really well, but high enough that you don't bump into it all the time when you're laying her down, and definately out of her reach so she can't grab hold and break something off and put it in her mouth. For some reason they always love chewing on things they shouldn't:)
