A little slice of paradise

Theron and I have always talked about having our own little garden someday. We want to fill it with lots of fruits, and vegetables, trees, herbs, and maybe even some pretty flowers. So last night we decided to try out our green thumbs and get a small start on one of our dreams. These gorgeous spring days have been making us crave the outdoors and so to experience them more beautifully from our home we got some flowers and went crazy! Here's what it looks like:

The whole reason we decided to do this is because in my aromatherapy book I read that lavender was good for keeping insects away. So we went and got some seeds to grow. Then we decided that waiting and hoping that they would grow was a waste of time since bugs were already coming out. So we went to go buy lavender. The first time we decided that we had no place to put it so we wouldn't get it. Then Theron decided to transform our deck into a little English Garden. So in the end we still got our lavender and even more beautiful flowers. By the way the pot that this lavender is in is Theron's absolute favorite pot he has ever seen. He said that if he had been the person to design that pot he would have died a happy man. Guess he won't die happy. This is the start of our fruit/vegetable garden. On each level is a different fruit/vegi. On the top we have tomatoes, the middle is strawberries, and the bottom is mini orange bell peppers. We're really excited to see these come in!Up close of one of our planter boxes.
Now this is a different story. Theron, figuring that we are going to make an attempt to make our patio look nice, decided that we also REALLY needed a grill. Not sure that he 'decided' it so much as it is instinctual in EVERY male to cook meat over and open fire. So, we got this grill at a VERY good discount and Theron put it together last night after we planted our flowers. This is the result of being male:
While he was putting his grill together he hit his head on the corner of his big surround sound speakers making a nice little puncture wound on the top of his head. We had no band aids and he was bleeding down his head so that on top is a cotton ball stuck on with some tape. Guess it's a good thing he's bald.
