Growing

Adelia is growing! Still slowly but she's now 21 inches and weighs 6 lbs 7 oz! Amazing she is still the exact same size and weight as any newborn born today could be. We found out the reason she wasn't gaining very quickly is because she has a poor sucking reflex at the breast. I don't know if I'll ever be able to exlusivley breast feed her but I'm trying. Right now we're working wtih nipple confusion (NO FUN!) and getting her to keep her latch. Any suggestions out there with success you've had getting your baby back to breast or helping her with a good latch? I'm doing all the positioning correctly but she just flails her arms about and spits out my nipple. It's incredibly frustrating. Oh well, she's still healthy.
Now for the fun part...pictures!

Wow what a doll! I'm sorry you're having issues with getting her to latch properly. That has to be frustrating. I'm guessing you've already spoken to a lactation consultant? I had no idea there was such a job until my friend told me she was one!

She is so cute, Melissa, and you look beautiful in your pictures! Motherhood looks good on you. :)

You look AWESOME! As far as breastfeeding and latching... I had a hard time with that too. After 2 months, I gave up. I probably shouldn't have .. but anyway. If you want some advice, you should get in touch with Mel. It took her and her daughter 4 months to get it down. Good luck. :) She's just beautiful like her mommy!
